In general silk filaments are all over the place with how they behave. I have a good printer that is able to print well with all of them, but my past printers may have needed some effort on the first layer, so my review is using a very nice textured PEI sheet printbed on a QIDI xmax3. I cannot attest to adhesion on other print beds. But I /have/ had adhesion issues with other silk filament, so it's not that I think all silk works the same, it does not. That said, I got perfect performance. My printer seemed to get perfect expected performance using the normal stock pla settings I just leave in my slicer, I think it is 210°c, but defaults for standard PLA.THEN there is the visual performance of the model, the attached photo shows that the color transitions on the various surfaces are consistent through the layers, and for my particular model, it performed really well, it is not just a bunch of mixed up color, there is a pattern to the color distribution that makes your models pop, textured surfaces do really well. It's a good toymaker's filament.It would work great for technical models as well, in case you want some extra flair on whatever you are making. If you have a multi-color printer, you might use this for an outside layer... The color mix is clearly designed to be directional, and that is how it is extruded, so as your nozzle changes direction on a 360° arc, the color displayed shifts consistently, creating the dramatic effect, and they alter and spin the mix at a rate that perfectly accented my dragon, so I have a slow diagonal color transition from one end to the other. I still have other multi color filaments to try, but most are boring compared to this one.This is the good stuff!
