Once running, this thing is very good and excellent value. But for me, setup for WiFi was very difficult (> 1 hour), and certainly not helped by the hopeless instructions. That's the reason for the missing 5th star.My old Netgear router does WPA, but NOT WPS (which enables automatic setup), even though the stupid Brother installation software thought it did. So if you have ordinary WPA security on your WiFi, but not WPS, do it this way. 1) From the CDROM, install the printer driver *only* on each computer you'll be printing from. 2) Stop right there and remove the CDROM: don't even think about USB cables and such. 3) Go to the printer (no computer required after this point) and follow the instructions (p.22 in the booklet) about getting the printer to find your WiFi signal and its SSID (lots of button pressing, in order). When it finds your network, then press lots more buttons as instructed, and finally enter your WiFi password (aka network key) by hand one slow character at a time. Once entered, hit OK.Our printer is fed from two Windows 7 PCs and one ancient XP, and very well: all you have to do is print to an http:// address, which the driver finds for you automatically on each computer (that at least works!). The deep sleep only consumes 1 watt (< 1/5 of a nightlight bulb) and so it really can be left on all the time, and it wakes up pretty fast, < 15 seconds.I have already looked at YouTube about resetting the faulty cartridge "buy more toner" signal. Looks easy.Print quality is good: adequate color (I kept my old ink-guzzling Canon Pixma if I ever need perfect photo printing), very sharp, even at the standard 600 dpi. We don't do much printing, which was always the Pixma's problem: wait 2-3 minutes, guzzle more ink, and then all I needed was 1 page! I think this machine will do well, and I note that there are generic cartridges available. Still not cheap, but the life cycle is thousands of pages.
